# AI Search Visibility Checker

Audit the technical foundation AI search systems may rely on: crawl controls, structured data, page structure, and discovery signals. This does not query AI products or prove that your page is cited.

## How the AI Search Readiness Checker Works

This tool audits four groups of technical foundations that can support discovery and clear interpretation:

1.  **Crawler controls**, reads robots.txt rules for common search, retrieval, user-triggered, and training agents. Different agents serve different purposes, so a block is explained rather than treated as universal failure.
2.  **Structured data**, detects JSON-LD types and basic validity. Markup can clarify visible entities and content, but there is no special AI schema and no citation guarantee.
3.  **Content structure**, reviews the title, description, H1, sections, and readable page text so important information is available in HTML and clearly organized.
4.  **Standard web signals**, checks canonical URLs, language, authorship, dates, Open Graph metadata, indexability, and sitemap references. These are useful web foundations, not secret GEO factors.

Each check produces a pass, warning, or fail with a specific explanation. The combined 0-100 score is a Web Aloha diagnostic heuristic. It is useful for prioritization, but it is not a platform score or prediction. An optional [llms.txt file](https://webaloha.co/tools/llms-txt-generator/) can provide a human-readable site overview, but major search engines do not require it for AI features.

## Why Technical AI Search Readiness Matters

Technical readiness cannot earn a citation by itself, but weak foundations can make otherwise useful content harder to discover, interpret, and attribute:

-   **Access comes first**, a crawler or user-triggered fetcher cannot retrieve a page that its relevant robots rules block.
-   **Clear pages reduce ambiguity**, descriptive headings, visible facts, and consistent entity information make a page easier for people and machines to interpret.
-   **Attribution needs identity**, consistent organization, author, source, and date information helps connect claims to a real publisher.
-   **Evidence still wins**, original research, firsthand testing, expert review, links, and independent mentions matter beyond anything this checker can see.
-   **Measurement closes the loop**, repeatable prompt tracking and citation reports are required to know whether readiness work changes actual visibility.

## AI Search Readiness Checker: FAQ

What does the AI Search Readiness Checker inspect?

It fetches the public page and robots.txt, then checks crawler rules, HTTPS and response status, noindex, title and heading structure, readable text, canonical and language signals, JSON-LD types, authorship, dates, and a sitemap reference. The report shows each check, its category, status, explanation, and impact.

How is the 0 to 100 readiness score calculated?

Every scoreable pass receives 10 points, every warning receives 5, and every failure receives 0. The earned points are divided by the maximum for scoreable checks. Informational checks are excluded, and the methodology is displayed with the result.

Why are some crawler checks informational rather than scored?

Not every crawler serves the same purpose, and blocking a training-oriented token can be an intentional policy choice. Informational status prevents that choice from automatically lowering the readiness score. Read the crawler purpose and impact text before changing access rules.

Does a high score prove visibility in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity?

No. The checker does not run prompts, inspect product indexes, or observe citations. A high score only means more of the audited public technical foundations passed. Actual visibility also depends on relevance, content quality, authority, discovery, product-specific retrieval, and query context.

How should I prioritize failed and warning checks?

Resolve unintended noindex directives, failed page responses, blocked search or retrieval access, and missing core page structure first. Then review canonical, language, structured data, authorship, date, and sitemap warnings in the context of the page type. Structured data must match visible content.

Why can the checker miss content or schema added by JavaScript?

The API evaluates the HTML returned to its fetch request. Content or JSON-LD injected only after browser JavaScript runs may not be present. Compare the report with rendered HTML and the relevant platform validation tools when a client-rendered site returns an unexpected warning.

Why might the readiness check fail to run?

The page or robots.txt request may time out, reject the scanner, require authentication, or be blocked by a firewall. Private and local-network hosts are rejected. A failed fetch is an availability limitation of this scan, not a conclusion about AI visibility.

What data is sent when I run this readiness check?

The public URL is sent to the Web Aloha API so it can fetch the page and the host's robots.txt file. The endpoint analyzes returned public HTML and crawler rules, asks for no login or personal details, and contains no application-storage step for the submitted URL or report.
