# Local SEO Landing Page Audit

Last updated: Jul 20, 2026

Compare one public location or service-area page with the business details it should represent—and get a transparent, prioritized fix list without a paid data provider.

Reference-based checks

## How the Local Landing-Page Audit Works

1. **Define the page’s job.** Choose storefront, hybrid, or service-area; then supply the actual business name, primary service, target location, phone, and applicable customer-facing address. Those details become the comparison reference; the tool does not guess the intended business entity.
2. **Fetch one public page safely.** The endpoint accepts only public HTTP or HTTPS hosts, follows a bounded redirect path, limits response size and time, and does not sign in or execute browser JavaScript.
3. **Compare local relevance.** The service and location are checked across the title, H1, visible copy, and same-site links. Exact phrase counts are shown as evidence, not keyword-density targets.
4. **Compare NAP and schema.** Visible name, address, phone, click-to-call links, and the best-matching LocalBusiness entity are normalized and compared with your reference values.
5. **Review proof and customer paths.** The report looks for broad testimonial, project, credential, rating, map, directions, hours, and contact patterns. It cannot verify whether claims or reviews are genuine.
6. **Prioritize transparent findings.** Every check shows its score weight, evidence, limitation, and recommended action. Export the full report for implementation.

Scope matters

## A Landing Page Supports Local Relevance—It Does Not Control Every Local Result

Google explains that local results are mainly based on **relevance, distance, and prominence**. Your landing page can clearly describe services, locations, identity, proof, and contact paths. It cannot change the searcher’s distance, replace an accurate Google Business Profile, create genuine reviews, or establish citations across the web.

### This audit can verify

- Returned HTML and response signals
- On-page service and location wording
- Visible NAP versus your reference
- LocalBusiness structured data fields
- Broad proof, map, hours, and contact patterns
- Relevant same-site links on the page

### This audit cannot verify

- Business Profile ownership or completeness
- Map Pack position or searcher proximity
- Directory and citation consistency
- Third-party review quality or recency
- Competitor strength and search intent
- Indexing, rankings, leads, or revenue

No mystery score

## Local Landing-Page Audit Scoring Method

The score is an implementation checklist, not a model of Google’s algorithm. Partial credit is used where a signal exists but does not adequately match the supplied reference.

| Category | Weight | What is scored |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Local relevance | 30 points | Service and location across title, H1, body, and contextual internal links |
| NAP & contact | 20 points | Reference name, address, phone, click-to-call, and complete identity representation |
| LocalBusiness schema | 20 points | Applicable type, matching name/address/phone, URL, geo or area, and hours |
| Trust & conversion | 15 points | Proof patterns, local proof context, map/directions, contact path, and visible hours |
| Technical basics | 15 points | HTTP success, HTTPS, noindex directives, metadata, H1 count, and canonical |

Entity clarity

## What Good LocalBusiness Markup Should Do

Google’s LocalBusiness documentation requires eligible markup to follow general structured-data policies and represent the business accurately. Use the most specific applicable subtype, keep marked-up details visible and current, and validate the final rendered page.

- **Name and address:** identify the real location or eligible business precisely. Address requirements vary with the supported feature and business type.
- **Telephone and URL:** connect the entity to the primary customer-facing contact and canonical website.
- **Hours and geography:** publish only accurate opening hours, coordinates, and service areas. Do not create fake locations or overstate coverage.
- **One coherent entity:** avoid conflicting Organization and LocalBusiness nodes. Reuse stable identifiers where practical and keep page-visible NAP aligned.
- **No guarantee:** valid structured data can aid understanding and eligibility, but Google does not guarantee display or rankings.

Use Google’s current [LocalBusiness structured-data documentation](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/local-business) as the source of truth, then test the deployed page.

Beyond token swaps

## What Makes a Local Landing Page Genuinely Useful

### A precise offer for a real audience

Explain who the service is for, what is included, response or delivery boundaries, common problems, process, and the next step. A city name pasted into generic copy does not create local usefulness.

### Evidence connected to the location

Use truthful project examples, staff expertise, service-area constraints, customer feedback, licenses, partnerships, or community context. Avoid fabricated testimonials, virtual-office pages, and cloned locations.

### A consistent business identity

The page, contact details, LocalBusiness entity, Business Profile, and important listings should describe the same real business. Tracking phone numbers, abbreviations, and departments need an intentional consistency plan.

### Clear journeys for people and crawlers

Link to the relevant core service, projects, reviews or proof, about, contact, and neighboring service-area content. Make calling, requesting a quote, booking, getting directions, or confirming coverage straightforward.

## Local SEO Landing Page Audit: FAQ

What does this local SEO landing-page audit check?

It fetches one public HTML page and compares it with the business name, primary service, target location, address, and phone you supply. It reviews service and location relevance, visible NAP, matching LocalBusiness structured data, proof and contact signals, internal links, and essential title, H1, canonical, HTTPS, status, and indexing directives.

Does this audit check my Google Business Profile or Local Pack rank?

No. It does not access Google Business Profile, Maps rankings, review platforms, directories, citations, competitors, or proximity. Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance, and prominence. A page audit can assess part of your website’s relevance and credibility support, but it cannot measure all local ranking inputs.

Why must I provide the business details instead of only a URL?

A URL alone cannot tell the tool which real-world business identity, phone, address, service, or location the page is supposed to represent. Your reference details make NAP and relevance checks explicit rather than guessing from whatever text happens to appear.

How does the tool judge NAP consistency?

It normalizes case, punctuation, spacing, accents, and phone formatting, then compares the supplied name, address, and phone with visible page text and the best-matching LocalBusiness entity. Address matching also uses token coverage for common formatting differences. Always verify abbreviations, suite numbers, tracking numbers, and multilingual variants manually.

What if my service-area business does not publish its street address?

Choose the service-area model. The reference address becomes optional and is not scored for visible publication. Instead, the audit checks for truthful service-area guidance, a consistent public name and phone, and areaServed markup. Google’s LocalBusiness rich-result requirements can still require an address for eligibility; do not expose a private address or invent a storefront solely for schema or SEO.

Does LocalBusiness schema improve local rankings?

Structured data helps machines understand stated business details and can make a page eligible for supported search features when all requirements are met. It is not a ranking guarantee. Markup must describe visible, accurate information, use the most specific applicable type, and follow Google’s structured-data policies.

Why can a good page receive a warning for low keyword counts?

The phrase checks use only the exact service and location references you supplied. A strong page may use synonyms, inflections, neighborhood names, or another language. Counts are review cues—not density targets. Useful specificity and natural language matter more than repeating one phrase.

Can this tool see content rendered only by JavaScript?

Not reliably. The server reviews the returned HTML without running a browser or executing client-side JavaScript. If important NAP, schema, reviews, or links are injected only after JavaScript runs, this audit can miss them. That is also a useful reason to verify what crawlers receive in rendered testing tools.

Is the score a Google ranking score?

No. It is a transparent 100-point implementation checklist weighted across local relevance, NAP and contact, LocalBusiness schema, trust and conversion, and technical basics. Google does not publish or use this score, and a higher score does not predict a particular rank.

What data does WebAloha receive?

The submitted URL and reference business details are sent to the WebAloha endpoint so it can fetch and compare the public page. The endpoint does not include application logic that stores the inputs, page HTML, or result. Normal hosting and security logs may record request metadata. Do not submit private or secret information.
