What transfers from Wix, and what we rebuild
Wix’s site technology runs on its platform. Your content can be moved through an agreed extraction process, but the layouts, editing setup and features need a new implementation in Astro.

- The agreed pages, blog posts, images, downloads and business information you have rights to reuse.

We inventory posts and collection items separately. Available exports and authorized APIs can help move data; rendered-page checks catch missing galleries, embeds, tables, internal links and metadata. We agree how authors, categories and multilingual content will be represented.
Images, files and galleries
We collect the agreed reusable assets, check image quality and alt text, and update references in pages and posts. Stock media, fonts and third-party embeds need their own license or service check before reuse outside Wix.
Wix Forms and automations
We map each form to its recipient and any CRM or automation it triggers. The replacement includes validation, spam protection, consent where needed, and a test of both submission and delivery.
Wix Bookings and Events
We agree how availability, staff calendars, payments, confirmations and existing reservations will work. A replacement booking service or a retained Wix integration needs separate configuration and testing before the old flow is retired.
Wix Stores and memberships
Products, orders, customer accounts, subscriptions, checkout and member access require a separate data and platform plan. Astro can be the frontend, but commerce and identity still need working services. We may recommend keeping Wix when replacing these workflows adds little value.
Velo code and third-party apps
We review what the custom code or app actually does and agree its replacement. Search, gated pages, dynamic collections and external APIs each need an implementation and maintenance owner; they do not transfer with a page layout.

- URLs and redirects. Check Wix page and blog paths, domain variants and existing redirects. Put required redirects on the new host and test their final destinations.
- Content and search signals. Compare titles, descriptions, headings, canonicals, structured data, internal links and language alternatives with the agreed inventory.
- Crawling and discovery. Check robots rules, remove staging restrictions at launch and publish an accurate sitemap. Make the important business content available in readable HTML.

Wix to Astro migration questions
Can you migrate a Wix or Wix Studio website to Astro?
Yes. Web Aloha reviews the existing site, agrees the content and functionality to retain, and rebuilds it in Astro. The scope includes URL mapping, SEO checks, an editing workflow and a launch plan. Wix Editor and Wix Studio layouts are rebuilt, while apps and custom code are assessed separately.
Can I export my Wix website and upload it to another host?
The existing Wix site depends on Wix’s platform and cannot simply be moved to another host. Some content can be exported or retrieved through authorized APIs, including CSV exports from CMS collections. Moving to Astro requires a new website implementation and checks that the agreed content and features survived the move.
Can I keep my domain and business email?
You can keep your custom domain. We review domain registration, DNS and email records before changing the website hosting. A registrar transfer is not automatically required. Email settings and any Wix-linked subscriptions are checked separately so the website launch does not unintentionally disrupt mail.
What happens to my Wix blog and images?
We inventory the agreed posts and media, move them into the chosen content system, and compare the rendered pages. That review includes formatting, galleries, embeds, authors, dates, categories, alt text and links. Comments and other platform-specific content are included only where an agreed transfer or replacement is feasible.
Will I still be able to edit the website?
Yes, with the editing setup agreed in the quote. A configured CMS can let your team change text, images and posts without editing code. It is a different workflow from the Wix visual editor, and layout changes may need development work. We demonstrate editing and publishing before handover.
Can you keep Wix bookings, a store or member accounts?
We review those workflows before recommending a full move. Options may include retaining a Wix service through a supported integration, choosing a replacement platform, or keeping the site on Wix. Existing bookings, payments, subscriptions and account access need a separate transition plan; they are not included in a basic content rebuild by default.
Will a Wix to Astro migration improve my Google rankings?
A migration is not a ranking guarantee. We reduce avoidable risk by preserving suitable URLs, mapping permanent redirects, transferring search metadata, checking crawlability and monitoring after launch. Rankings can fluctuate while search engines process changes. Performance and enquiry results depend on the complete site, content and integrations.
Will moving to Astro get my business recommended by AI?
Astro can support accessible HTML, clear business information and accurate structured data. Those are useful foundations, but changing framework does not guarantee AI recommendations. We make the agreed content discoverable and measure actual citations or referrals separately from technical readiness.
How much does Wix to Astro migration cost?
We quote after reviewing the site. Page templates, post volume, CMS requirements, languages, media recovery, apps and custom functionality determine the work. The quote separates the rebuild from hosting, CMS, third-party subscriptions and ongoing support. Published WordPress migration packages are not automatic Wix quotes.
How long will the migration take?
We agree a schedule after checking the content, integrations, access and review requirements. A small brochure site has a different scope from a multilingual site with bookings or a store. The plan includes staging review, a content update cutoff, launch checks and the agreed monitoring period.
When can I cancel Wix?
Keep the existing site and necessary subscriptions available during the rebuild and rollback window. Cancel only after the new site, forms, redirects, domain, email and any retained services are verified. We document which Wix services are being replaced and which, if any, must remain active.
