What GEO Services Cost in 2026: Real Pricing and What's Included

Author: Lucky Oleg | Published

If you have tried to find out what generative engine optimization actually costs, you have probably hit the same wall everywhere: “book a call for a custom quote.” So here are real numbers, including ours, and a breakdown of what the money should buy.

The short answer

Typical GEO agency retainers run $1,500 to $10,000 per month, with enterprise engagements above that. Most agencies quote privately, so published price lists are rare.

For context, our own pricing at Web Aloha (yes, we sell GEO services, and this post tells you exactly what everyone charges anyway):

Package Price What’s included
On-Page GEO $333/month AI visibility audit, entity and brand clarity optimization, structured data, core-page optimization, internal linking, monthly AI-visibility reports, 2 blog posts per month
Full GEO $999/month Everything above, plus off-site authority building, directory presence, AI-search competitor analysis, SEO included, 6 blog posts per month, monthly strategy call
Typical agency $1,500 to $10,000/month Varies by contract, often defined after the sales call

Why is our pricing lower? Small team, no account managers, no office in a capital city, and we already run 80+ free SEO and AI tools that do part of the diagnostic work. You are paying for the optimization, not the overhead.

What GEO services should include

Whatever you pay, the deliverables list should cover five areas. If a proposal is vague on any of them, ask.

  1. AI visibility audit. Where does your brand currently appear across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot? What do AI systems say about you, and is it accurate? This is the baseline everything else is measured against.
  2. Entity and brand clarity. AI platforms recommend brands they can unambiguously identify. That means consistent name, description, services, and location signals across your website and the wider web.
  3. Structured data. Schema markup is how you describe your business to machines in their native format. It is one of the strongest levers for earning AI citations.
  4. Content optimized for citations. AI systems quote sources that answer questions directly, with clear structure and verifiable facts. Generic marketing copy does not get cited.
  5. Measurement. How often is your brand mentioned in AI answers, on which platforms, and is the trend improving? If an agency can’t explain how they measure AI visibility, they can’t prove they did anything.

One-time project or monthly retainer?

Both models exist. A one-time GEO setup (audit, schema, entity cleanup, core-page optimization) fixes the foundations and makes sense for small sites with limited budgets. But GEO behaves like SEO: AI models update constantly, cited sources rotate, and competitors adjust. The businesses that stay visible treat it as an ongoing process. Most see early movement within 4 to 8 weeks and compounding results over 6 to 12 months.

Red flags when comparing GEO vendors

  • Guaranteed citations. Nobody controls ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews. Guarantees here are the same lie as guaranteed #1 rankings.
  • No deliverables list. “AI optimization” without specifics usually means a schema plugin and an invoice.
  • No measurement plan. If they can’t show you a before/after on AI visibility, you are buying vibes.
  • GEO as a rebadge. Some agencies renamed their old SEO package overnight. GEO builds on SEO, but citation-focused content, entity work, and AI-visibility monitoring are distinct deliverables. If the proposal reads exactly like an SEO proposal with the letters swapped, it is one.
  • Secrecy about method. The fundamentals of GEO are public knowledge (we publish ours in the complete GEO guide). Vendors who claim proprietary magic are hiding either simplicity or emptiness.

How to start without spending anything

Before you talk to any vendor, including us, get your own baseline. Run the free AI Search Visibility Checker to see whether AI platforms can access and understand your site, then browse the GEO hub for the guides and tools to fix the basics yourself. If you would rather have it done for you, our GEO services start at $333 per month, and the price you see is the price you pay.
